Charlotte Teehan, MBS (2024): Bachelor MBS abroad at Hurricane Group, the power of the alumni network
Charlotte Teehan, who graduated with a Bachelor's degree from MBS School of Business in 2024, has an open-ended contract as an international business developer with Hurricane group, and is a success story thanks to work-study and the alumni network. Originally from Ireland, she chose MBS for its location in the South of France and the strength of its professional partnerships and network. Her recruitment by Hurricane Group, a company whose CEO is Joseph Villeflayoux (MBS 2016) and whose founder is Hervé André-Benoit (MBS 1999), illustrates the connections between the school's students, teachers and alumni.
"The Alumni network was decisive. Without the recommendation of my teacher, Guillaume Fontan, I wouldn't have landed my work-study placement, then my permanent contract at Hurricane."
FISE Wolverhampton, a formative project
Under a permanent contract with Hurricane Group's international department, Charlotte is building up offers for large-scale sporting events and supporting customers throughout the entire process, from sales to on-site event organization, such as FISE Wolverhampton in England. This project, which she piloted during her work-study placement, demonstrates the trust placed in MBS students. An example of "learning by doing", a method widely used by the school.
"FISE Wolverhampton is my biggest project to date. I was trusted to take over after my colleague left. It was intense, but that's how I learned."

The strength of the MBS network
For Charlotte, success means listening to teachers and getting involved in the alumni network. At Hurricane Group, she negotiates with host cities, manages international clients and contributes to events such as the FISE World Shanghai 2024. A career made possible thanks to the MBS network and the involvement of her teachers, including Cyril Salort and Guillaume Fontan (MBS 2015), in the success of their students.

"Listen to your teachers. Cyril Salort and Guillaume Fontan taught me to think strategically. These courses were crucial for me."
What next?
Charlotte's international and entrepreneurial ambitions know no bounds. Before taking the plunge, she intends to build on her experience at Hurricane Group. She also knows that networking is an invaluable asset, and encourages students and recent graduates to mobilize it to seize the right opportunities. Her next challenge? Representing Hurricane Group at Alumni Day 2025 in Montpellier, where she will share her experience with students.
"I'd like to set up my own business one day. For the moment, I'm concentrating on Hurricane, but I'm open to international opportunities. Australia or Asia? Why not!"

Charlotte's advice
Charlotte advises students not to underestimate the power of networking, an essential asset for their professional future. She also stresses the importance of listening to their teachers, who play a key role as a gateway to begin building their network.
"I'd say really listen to your teachers! At Bachelor's level, we often tend to say to ourselves: "Ah, it's quiet, it's fine", but in reality, when the time comes to look for a sandwich course, or even at the end of one - which you may well have found simply because you needed one - you realize the importance of these relationships.
Even if you're a studious, attentive and committed student, you may regret not having listened more to your teachers and forged stronger links with them. It's precisely through this kind of relationship that you can access unique opportunities, like the one I had."
